I run occasional online workshops, SUNDAY SALONS, which can be either writing focused or craft focused.

In the writing-focused Sunday Salons I draw on the wisdom of Pat Schneider and the Amherst Writers and Artists method, which supports us to write our original material from the heart up not from the head down. I facilitate it in such a way that we support each other as we bring new writing into the world and have some creative fun while we do so. Ultimately I want to give each piece of writing every chance to grow from a delicate seedling, first draft stage, into its robust maturity as a completed piece of writing over time. And I want each writer to grow into their creative potential.

In my craft-focused workshops, for example, ‘What Makes This a Poem?‘, I facilitate close reading of a few carefully selected poems from different writers. During the discussion that follows we gain new insights into craft, renew our delight in the potential of language, which then leads us to see fresh possibilities in our own creative work.
